So then, any of you who does not forsake (renounce, surrender claim to, give up, say good-bye to) all that he has cannot be My disciple. Luke 14:33
In Christ you no longer possess anything of your own. Everything that you have is your Father’s and everything that your Father has is yours. God does not want 10% back from you, He wants it all from you, and in turn, He will give you all that He has.
And the father said to him, Son, you are always with me, and all that is mine is yours. Luke 15:31
There are many who want to focus on worldly possessions when it comes to this Truth, but the things of the world are not your treasure. The treasures of God are spiritual, and they are mighty. The things that are of real value are: love, faith, mercy, hope, knowledge, forgiveness, spiritual gifts, and wisdom. These are the possessions that will bring you an abundant life and your treasure is that you have all of them just as Jesus does.
In this [union and communion with Him] love is brought to completion and attains perfection with us, that we may have confidence for the day of judgment [with assurance and boldness to face Him], because as He is, so are we in this world. 1 John 4:17
You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and I have appointed you [I have planted you], that you might go and bear fruit and keep on bearing, and that your fruit may be lasting [that it may remain, abide], so that whatever you ask the Father in My Name [as presenting all that I Am], He may give it to you. John 15:16
All [things that are] Mine are Yours, and all [things that are] Yours belong to Me; and I am glorified in (through) them. [They have done Me honor; in them My glory is achieved.] And [now] I am no more in the world, but these are [still] in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, keep in Your Name [in the knowledge of Yourself] those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We [are one]. John 17:10-11
